Love after love…

I invite you to read the poem below. I think its fantastic.
What does it mean to you?

Love after love
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
(Derek Walcott)

For me its a poem about finding yourself again, and resting in the presence of your authentic self. We spend much of our life looking for things that we think will fulfill us. However  much of  it leaves us feeling empty or not quite satisfied.  Once we rediscover our true self through enquiry and exploration, we can start honouring who we really are. We can sit and rest, break bread, drink wine, and look ourselves in the eye…  and smile. Restarting our life journey on that path it was always meant to take.
