Pain is temporary… Something else will take its place.

The sportsman that came up with the quote below was discredited, but the words he created still have a moving brilliance.
I sometimes use it to encourage clients to keep pushing through their difficulties. Because if they get through it, something different will be present in their lives. They will have changed.

“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”

(Lance Armstrong)

If the situation in your life is difficult, keep pushing through it. There is a new version of you on the other side.
I see this again and again with my clients. Through coaching, and holding clients accountable for what they want, they eventually get to the other side of their challenge. Then when they look back, they feel that sense of pride and ownership of what they have achieved. But the greatest thing of all is when they look forward, they see new possibilities, and new space to create something different.

So whatever the challenge is, it will eventually subside… and something will take its place.
